First there's winter --- and then
August. Such is Summer in New
London.
...free concerts on the Town
Green...Farmers' Market and craft fair...boating on Lake Sunapee and
Little Lake Sunapee...golfing at the country club...bathing and kayaking

About those free concerts on the Town
Green - the band, Long Tail Monkeys from East Andover, New Hampshire,
played rock classics and their own composition entitled Holiday
Blues. As of 2010 the band has been together for three years -
Sam, 14, plays bass guitar, along with his brother, Max, 12, on drums,
Logan, 12, on guitar, and Tyler on the keyboard. They nailed it.
School's out and day camp at the Hogan
Sports Center on the Colby-Sawyer College campus is in.
Now's the time to open the garage and
start that antique car. What a good feeling driving it around town.
With the return of summer residents,
friendships are rekindled at the post office and the transfer
station.
And, four days of the annual New London
Hospital Days, a fundraiser for New London Hospital...carnival rides, hay
rides, pie eating contest, plant sale, book sale, bake sale, food tent by
the New London Rotary Club, face painting, sack races, parade, train ride,
teddy bear clinic, blood pressure clinic, triathlon, radar soccer ball
kick, music under the Big Tent, alpacas, New London Fire Department open
house, chicken barbecue and the best blueberry pancakes anywhere on the
face of this earth prepared by the New London Lions Club and the best
baked beans by a New London town employee.
